June– 2006 London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine – Lecture by Chairman of MDCF
Mr Hiten Patel was invited as a guest speaker at the LSHTM to an audience of eminent specialists in the field of infectious diseases including TB. The talk generated substantial interest resulting in several of these specialists agreeing to support our current TB Hospital project. |

May– 2006 The latest trustee site visit
Trustees spent 3/52 overseeing and organizing the equipping of the diagnostic and laboratory centre. This included ordering a state of the art radiology facility from SIEMENS worldwide. The facility includes a PACS digital system so that quality control and second opinion can be arranged at anytime allowing UK specialists to view radiology and interpret. |

Feb– 2006 UCL Indian Society – "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", Bloomsbury Theatre, London
The President of the Indian society, Sanooj Soni, pledged proceeds of this evening of music and dance to MDCF, raising over £1000 within a few hours. This show was filmed live for SKY television and guest appearances included Richard Blackwood ( Comedian MTV ) and our very own chairman Hiten Patel ( Guest of Honour ). |

Feb– 2006 MDCF Trustees Visit
MDCF Trustees visited the hospital site in India to oversee the current progress and were pleased to present a cheque for £18,000 to the local community trust co-ordinating the building activities. |
